Finally Nokia creates a mobile which is not a mobile but a complete multimedia platform in itself. It had a valuable experience with its flagship N 95 multimedia device. The original mobile lacked quite a lot of features which the competition iPhone promised like the larger screen and enhanced storage space.
Now the new 8GB avatar sports onboard 8 GB memory the same way the n91 used to. Technically it features the same Symbian OS 9.1 with Series60 interface with feature pack 1 as the original n95 did. It features an ARM11 processor with 333 MHz and 128 MB RAM which makes it slicker and faster compared to other previous Nokia models. The screen is bigger than the original N95 by almost .2 inches being 2.8 inches which makes it comparable to a lot of WM6 based PDAs and smart phones.
The display is 16m colored 240x340pixel one which is de-facto standard amongst all mobiles these days. A better addition would have been a CIF display, although sadly this has been omitted. As with 2.8 inches screen you tend to see a lot of pixilated icons rather than they being smooth. The other notable feature is its 5megapixel camera which at the moment is best in its class loaded with a lot of semi-manual settings like sharpness, contrast, exposure control etc. Overall it is a very feature packed phone.
With 8GB of storage you would hardly feel the absence of card-slot. And the best thing is that it has a lot of stamina unlike its older brother, the N95. It is available in black color and the irritating camera lid is gone which was a big problem keeping this already bulky device in the pocket. When taking the mobile phone out from the pocket it often turned the camera on by opening the lid. And the bad news is that 8GB has increased the weight of the camera Phone by quite a lot, a good job for those who still haven't purchased N95.
